Rental Terms and Conditions

1. General Information

These Rental Terms & Conditions govern the rental of vehicles provided by Rent'n'Ride Crete P.C. ("the Company", "we", "our", "us").

By making a reservation or signing the rental agreement, the renter acknowledges that they have read, understood, and accepted these Terms & Conditions.

2. Driver Eligibility

To rent a vehicle from Rent'n'Ride Crete:

  • Drivers must be between 20 and 70 years of age.

  • Drivers must have held a valid driving licence for at least two (2) years.

  • A valid government-issued driving licence must be presented at vehicle collection.

  • Driving licences issued by any government authority are accepted, provided they are legally valid in Greece.

  • The Company reserves the right to refuse a rental if the required documentation cannot be verified.

 

3. Reservations & Booking

Reservations are considered confirmed once the required booking deposit has been received.

Although every effort is made to provide the reserved vehicle model, availability cannot always be guaranteed. If necessary, the Company reserves the right to provide a similar or higher-category vehicle at no additional cost.

Vehicle categories, features and colours may vary depending on availability.

 

4. Booking Modifications

Booking modifications are accepted whenever possible and remain subject to vehicle availability.

Requests should be submitted as early as possible to maximize availability.

Changes to rental dates, vehicle category, delivery location or optional equipment may affect the rental price.

 

5. Cancellation Policy

Customers may cancel their reservation under the following conditions:

  • More than 14 days before vehicle collection: full refund of the booking deposit.

  • Between 7 and 14 days before vehicle collection: 30% of the booking deposit will be retained.

  • Less than 7 days before collection or No-Show: the booking deposit is non-refundable.

A "No-Show" occurs when the customer fails to collect the vehicle without prior notification.

 

6. Vehicle Collection

The renter must present:

  • Valid driving licence

  • Valid passport or national ID

 

Vehicle delivery locations are available upon request and are subject to confirmation.

The Company reserves the right to decline vehicle delivery if the driver's identity or eligibility cannot be verified.

 

7. Vehicle Return

Vehicles must be returned on the agreed date, time and location specified in the rental agreement.

Late returns without prior approval may result in additional rental charges.

The vehicle should be returned in the same condition in which it was collected, excluding normal wear and tear.

 

8. Fuel Policy

Vehicles must be returned with the same fuel level as received.

If additional fuel is required to restore the original fuel level, the customer will be charged accordingly together with any applicable service fee.

 

9. Vehicle Use

The rented vehicle may only be driven by the renter, another driver as specified at the time of car retrieval and any additional drivers approved by the Company.

The renter agrees not to:

  • drive under the influence of alcohol or drugs;

  • participate in racing or speed competitions;

  • use the vehicle for illegal purposes;

  • transport hazardous materials;

  • sub-rent the vehicle;

  • drive outside Greece without prior written approval.

The renter remains responsible for the vehicle throughout the rental period.

 

10. Pets

Pets are welcome inside Company vehicles.

However, customers remain fully responsible for any cleaning costs or damage caused by pets during the rental period.

Additional cleaning or repair charges may apply where necessary.

 

11. Insurance

All rentals include the Company's standard insurance coverage as described in the rental agreement.

Insurance coverage applies only when:

  • the vehicle is operated in accordance with these Terms & Conditions;

  • the driver complies with all applicable traffic laws;

  • the rental agreement has not been violated.

Insurance does not cover damage resulting from negligence, unauthorized drivers, misuse, driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, or any unlawful use of the vehicle.

Additional insurance options may be available upon request.

 

12. Optional Equipment

The following optional extras may be available subject to availability:

  • Additional Driver

  • Child Seats

  • GPS Navigation

  • Roof Racks

  • Snow Chains (seasonal)

Additional charges may apply.

 

13. Breakdown Assistance

Rent'n'Ride Crete provides 24-hour roadside assistance during the rental period.

In the event of mechanical failure, customers should immediately contact the Company using the emergency contact details provided in the rental agreement.

Repairs or towing arrangements should not be organized independently without prior authorization from the Company.

 

14. Accident Procedure

In the event of an accident, the renter must:

  1. Stop the vehicle immediately.

  2. Contact the Police.

  3. Contact Rent'n'Ride Crete as soon as possible.

  4. Complete all accident documentation requested by the authorities or the Company.

  5. Cooperate fully with insurance procedures.

Failure to follow this procedure may affect insurance coverage.

 

15. Traffic Violations & Fines

The renter is solely responsible for:

  • speeding fines;

  • parking violations;

  • toll charges;

  • traffic offences;

  • any penalties issued during the rental period.

If the Company is required to process unpaid fines on behalf of the customer, an administration fee may also be charged in addition to the original fine.

 

16. Payments

The Company accepts:

  • Credit Cards

  • Debit Cards

  • Cash

  • Bank Transfers

Payment conditions will be confirmed during the booking process.

 

17. Security Deposit

A security deposit may be required before vehicle collection.

The deposit amount depends on the selected vehicle category and insurance option.

The deposit may be retained partially or fully where outstanding charges, damages, traffic fines or breaches of these Terms & Conditions occur.

 

18. Customer Responsibility

The renter agrees to:

  • operate the vehicle responsibly;

  • secure the vehicle when unattended;

  • report any damage immediately;

  • return all keys, documents and accessories upon completion of the rental.

Loss of keys, documents or accessories may result in replacement charges.

 

19. Company Liability

Rent'n'Ride Crete shall not be liable for:

  • loss or damage to personal belongings left inside the vehicle;

  • delays caused by force majeure, weather conditions or events beyond its reasonable control;

  • indirect or consequential losses arising from the rental.

Nothing in these Terms excludes liability where such exclusion is prohibited by applicable law.

 

20. Personal Data

Personal information collected during the booking and rental process is processed in accordance with applicable data protection legislation, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Customer information is used solely for reservation management, vehicle rental services, legal obligations and customer support.

 

21. Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of Greece.

Any dispute arising from or relating to the rental agreement shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts of Heraklion, Crete.

 

22. Acceptance of Terms

By confirming a reservation and signing the rental agreement, the renter confirms that they have read, understood and accepted these Rental Terms & Conditions.
